Abu Dhabi – 07 October 2022: H.E. Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the UAE’s MOI & President of INTERPOL, visited Rabdan Academy, where he was received by H.E. James Morse, President of Rabdan Academy, and a number of senior management members.
During the visit, Al Raisi was briefed on Rabdan Academy’s vision 2025, its role in promoting cooperation and coordination between relevant national institutions, and its high-level academic and professional programs in safety, security, defence, emergency preparedness and crisis management fields.
The meeting discussed the ways to enhance joint cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the INTERPOL in terms of the academic programs, professional development programs and relevant research & development areas.
Al Raisi commended Rabdan Academy’s excellence and progress as a unique national academic institution, noting the importance of its active role in supporting government entities and providing them with qualified national cadres, alongside its contribution to strengthen the UAE’s security, defence and civil protection system under a systematic and integrated framework that brings together academic, practical and research areas.
During the visit, Al Raisi met with faculty members, the vast majority of whom are PhD holders from global top 200 universities with relevant international professional leadership experience at strategic, executive and planning levels. The meeting discussed Rabdan Academy’s exceptional efforts in developing joint research and exchanging experiences & faculty in the context of international research and knowledge cooperation to serve the strategic goals and future aspirations of Rabdan Academy.
The visit also included a meeting with Rabdan Academy’s students, including scholarship students from various national organisations, international students, and students under exchange programs. During the meeting, the students listened to inspiring messages from Al Raisi based on his significant experience at the national and international levels. The students expressed their gratitude for this valuable opportunity to meet an exceptional and distinguished figure and one of the highly effective police leaders at the international level.
The visit also included a tour at Rabdan Academy’s campus, during which Al Raisi was briefed on the Academy’s world-class facilities, including, but not limited to, classrooms based on modern learning tools and technology, technical laboratories for practical application, healthcare facilities, a library that provides rich reference sources, and other relevant academic, research and administrative facilities.
It is worth noting that Rabdan Academy goes beyond the academic and professional development context, to implement and manage strategic projects in cooperation with its stakeholders, based on high-level plans and approved timelines, that includes developing nationally recognised qualifications, establishing new awarding bodies and centres, implementing capacity building and professional development programs, in addition to providing technical and research consultations.
