In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Rabdan Academy Holds Awareness Sessions for Uzbekistan

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on 9 November 2021:

In coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Rabdan Academy held a number of awareness sessions for the Government and Academic institutions in the Republic of Uzbekistan. These sessions, covering business community during pandemics, cybersecurity, the role of media during crises, and risk management, came as part of the foreign assistance that the United Arab Emirates is offering to many countries around the world.

His Excellency Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs, highlighted the deep-rooted and strong diplomatic ties between the UAE and Uzbekistan. He said: “The UAE seeks to establish strong and high level of diplomatic ties with Uzbekistan on the bases of mutual cooperation, ambitions, and common goals, in order to enhance cooperation and exchange of expertise in all domains, especially training.”

The four-day awareness sessions focused on various vital topics. The first session, offered by Dr. Idris Alam, focused on business continuity management and included a case study on business continuity during epidemics. The second session, presented by Dr. Petros Violakis, shed light on the importance of cybersecurity and means of protection. The third session, moderated by Rabdan Academy President James Morse, revolved around the role of media during crises, while the fourth and final session was about the integrated risk management, emergencies, crises, and disasters, and was presented by Dr. Carlos Samuel. These sessions attracted as many as 200 managers and officials from various government entities in Uzbekistan.

Commenting on the close cooperation between UAE and Uzbekistan in many fields, especially in the area of experience exchange, Uzbekistan Ambassador to UAE Bakhtiyar Ibrahimov said: “The diplomatic ties between UAE and Uzbekistan have developed owing to the wise leadership of the two friendly countries. It is an approach that has introduced prospects for cooperation in broader and bigger fields. We commend UAE as one of the safest countries in the world; it has a pioneering and courageous experience in cementing the foundations and pillars of peace among countries.”

Ibrahimov added: “These awareness sessions were perfect in terms of their timing and the topics they touched on, and I am confident that they will be of great benefit to government officials and experts in Uzbekistan. We would like to express our deep gratitude to the UAE for continuing to cooperate with Uzbekistan in all forms. We would also like to thank Rabdan Academy and its experts for optimally designing and delivering such courses, and we are looking forward to more cooperation in the future.”

His Excellency Dr. Faisal Al-Ayyan, Vice President of Rabdan Academy, said: “We always seek to support the diplomatic effort and strengthen bilateral ties between UAE and brotherly and friendly countries in the academic fields of safety, security, emergency preparedness, and crisis management. We are ready to design training programs that meet the different needs of government institutions in order to introduce national cadres capable of maintain security and safety.”

Al-Ayyan concluded: “Rabdan Academy is building strategic and constructive relations with all strategic partners. We are proud of the distinguished relationship we have with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, a relationship that resulted in Rabdan Academy offering training courses for many brotherly and friendly countries, the most recent of which was that for the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
