Dr. Tamir Bar-On

Assistant Professor

Tamir Bar-On is a Canadian citizen and he completed his Ph.D. in political science from McGill University in 2000. He was a Professor-Researcher at the Tec de Monterrey (Campus Querétaro) from 2009-2022 and a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers. Bar-On also taught at the Royal Military College of Canada, Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Windsor, and Yale University.

Bar-On is a specialist on the radical right, extremism, and terrorism, as well as the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles and seven academic books, including: Where Have All The Fascists Gone? (Ashgate, 2007; Routledge, 2016, second edition), Rethinking the French New Right: Alternatives to modernity (Routledge, 2013), The World through Soccer: The Cultural Impact of a Global Sport (Rowman and Littlefield, 2014), Beyond Soccer: International Relations and Politics as Seen Through the Beautiful Game (Rowman and Littlefield, 2017), Responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic by the Radical Right: Scapegoating, Conspiracy Theories and New Narratives (ibidem Verlag, 2021) (with B. Molas), The Right and the Radical Right in the Americas: Ideological Currents from Interwar Canada to Contemporary Chile (with B.
