Dr. Muna Balfaqeeh boasts extensive and pioneering expertise across various critical domains, including academic and vocational accreditation, strategic communication, capacity development, vocational training, and the advancement of national programs and initiatives in the field of education and vocational training. Throughout her tenure in diverse government entities and organizations, she has played a pivotal role in furthering the realization of the UAE's overarching vision and strategic goals.
Presently, Dr. Balfaqeeh serves as the Director of Vocational Education Affairs at Rabdan Academy. In this capacity, she directly oversees the development of a substantial cohort of national professionals specializing in safety, security, defence, emergency preparedness and crisis management. Additionally, she supervises the cultivation of international partnerships that bolster Rabdan Academy's professional development framework. Moreover, she manages the orchestration of specialized capacity-building programs and the attainment of essential national and international accreditations.
Before her tenure at Rabdan Academy, Dr. Balfaqeeh assumed the role of Deputy Vice Chancellor – Continuing Education at the Emirates College for Advanced Education. During this period, she chaired several national initiatives designed to enhance the country's educational landscape through teacher training and performance improvement.
Dr. Balfaqeeh embarked on her academic journey as an assistant professor at the United Arab Emirates University. Subsequently, she joined the Petroleum Institute, where she ascended to the position of Director of the Academic Bridge Program in addition to her work as an academic, and later served as the Dean of Student Life within the same institution. In 2017, she took on the role of Chair of the English language and Communication Department at Khalifa University.
Her educational background includes a PhD in Linguistics, with a focus on Discourse Analysis of Arabic and English Media and Political Texts, conferred by the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Furthermore, she holds a Master's in Arts in the same field and has earned an Executive Master's in Business Administration from Zayed University.
Dr. Balfaqeeh has completed numerous professional programs, including the UAE Government Executive Leaders Program, NCFE in Assessing Vocational Achievement, and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Requirements and Implementation.
