The Rabd Horses:
The definition of Rabd horses:
The Rabd horse is one of the most famous Arabian horses. Rabd is the plural of the feminine noun (Rabdaa) and the masculine noun (Arbad). It is derived from the word (Rabda) which means a dusty black color.
The reason for the naming:
The horses were named with this word because the first person to own a horse from this bloodline chased an ostrich while riding on its back and caught it. The ostrich was described as rabdaa with this mixed black color, which can be found on many horses. Hence, they are described as Rabda horses.
These horses are known for their high speed, small hooves and strong legs, which are similar to ostrich legs. Moreover, they move in a light manner, which helps in improving their riders’ skills.
The Rabd Horses bloodline:
The Rabd horses are from the Kuheilat bloodline. The singular of this word is kuheila, and it is one of the oldest, inveterate, purebred and honorable Arabian horses.
The Rabdan bloodline continues to be one of the most famous Arab horse pedigrees in the world renowned for their speed and success at winning races.
There are many poems that described the qualities which make them and their bloodline the best Arabian horses known in the region.
In the light of the above, the name of Rabdan was chosen to be the official name of the Academy: (Rabdan Academy)
