Key Objectives:The Associate Professor of the Academy is responsible for contributing to the successful delivery and development of curricula within the Policing & Security Program..
Key Responsibilities :
  • Deliver a range of programmes of study (sometimes for entirely new courses) at various levels
  • Assist in development of the quality assurance framework within the Academy’s overall framework, including the validation and re-validation of courses, and student admission and assessment
  • Educate and improve student knowledge or career skills within the field of Policing & Security
  • Develop an instructional plan (course outline or syllabus) for the course(s) and ensure that it meets department / discipline standards
  • Support assessment grading and monitor student assessment development
  • Advise students about which classes to take and how to achieve their goals within the field of Policing & Security
  • Stay informed about changes and innovations in the field of Policing & Security
  • Participate in student support on academic, career and personal development matters
  • Extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to teaching, research and appropriate external activities
  • Advise, mentor and support less experienced colleagues and coach on personal development
  • Participate and be a recognized contributor to Policing & Security subject associations, societies and relevant professional bodies
  • Ensure that student progress is regularly monitored and that the results of monitoring are reported in a timely fashion to the Full Professor / Program Chair of Policing & Security
  • Provide timely and detailed feedback on a weekly basis and offer students support via classroom, phone or email
  • Adhere to the Academy’s information security policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by Full Professor / Program Chair and top management
