Dr. Faisal Ahmed Mohamed AlKaabi

Dr. Faisal is the Dean of Faculty of Resilience at Rabdan Academy; he has a PhD in Health and Safety from the University College London. He has an MSc in Health and Safety from the University of Birmingham (UK) and an MBA from Aston University (UK). Dr. Faisal has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Organizational Leadership from the University of Oxford (UK).

After completing the PhD, Dr. Faisal Alkaabi was appointed as the Head of Thematic Review Branch at Abu Dhabi Police Center for Strategy and Institutional Development (October 2016 – January 2018). In this role, He led a multinational team of police experts from different countries. The responsibilities include carrying out thorough evaluation of gaps in some policing practices, benchmarking and conduction of focus groups with internal and external experts to evaluate best practices and preparing reports and presentations of findings to the top-level and present those findings during senior management committee meetings.
Dr. Faisal Alkaabi promoted to become the director of Policing Research and Studies Centre (January 2018 – June 2018). The roles and responsibilities for this position include, ssupervising the academic and field research conducted by the Research and Studies Branch, Evaluating Research findings carried out internally and externally and making recommendations for decision makers and supporting other departments, particularly the foresight and innovation by scientific evaluation of findings from local and international reports, to ensure high adoption of evidenced-based practice.
Prior to Rabdan Academy, Dr. Faisal Alkaabi was the Deputy Director of Innovation and Foresight Administration at Abu Dhabi Police Center for Strategy and Institutional Development (June 2018 up to December 2019). His roles include supervising concerned Abu Dhabi Police’s department to achieve the Abu Dhabi Police 2057 plan, active participation in assessing and implementing innovative ideas from different stakeholders, supervise the main Abu Dhabi Police surveys, which aim to measure the perception of the community, employees, service users, suppliers and corporate stakeholders. By being part of multiple committees, Dr. Faisal has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in diverse topics.

Dr. Faisal Alkaabi’s main research interest include innovation and future foresight in policing and security, public perception studies of the police and security, leadership and change.
