Rabdan Academy held the second seminar in the Complex Systems Management series, titled ‘Challenges and opportunities in defence acquisition and procurement’, with the participation of leading international experts and representatives from national entities.
The seminar aimed to highlight key challenges facing the defence sector and explore solutions to enhance the efficiency of military procurement. Discussions focused on developing more flexible contracting mechanisms, improving supplier financing across various levels, and strengthening collaboration between governments and industry to expand production capacity when needed.
The seminar was moderated by Dr Jack Harding, Assistant Professor, Defence & Security Program, Rabdan Academy. It featured distinguished speakers, including Retired Lieutenant General Richard Wardlaw, former CDLS for Defence Support at UKStratCom; Mr Christopher Paris, electronic warfare expert; and Dr Olli Pekka Suorsa, Assistant Professor, Homeland Security Program, Rabdan Academy.
