أ.د. إدريس علام

أستاذ وباحث مشارك

 يشغل د. إدريس منصب أستاذ مشارك في برنامج الإدارة المتكاملة للطوارئ واستمرارية الأعمال. إذ أنه يقدم مساقات حول الحد من مخاطر الكوارث، وإدارة الطوارئ، وتخطيط استدامة الأعمال، وأساليب البحث، والسلامة العامة، وخطط الاستجابة الإعلامية في حالات الطوارئ، وإدارة الأزمات، والتخطيط الاستراتيجي. حصل د. علام على درجة الدكتوراه في الحد من مخاطر الكوارث من جامعة نيو ساوث ويلز، أستراليا.

درس أ.د. علام وعمل في بنغلاديش وأستراليا والمملكة المتحدة. وقد عمل سابقًا مع الحكومات والمنظمات غير الحكومية والأمم المتحدة بصفات مختلفة. نشر كمؤلف رئيسي أكثر من 100 ورقة بحثية حول إدارة مخاطر الكوارث وعلوم الاستدامة في المجلات الدولية الكبرى. نجح د. علام في تأمين تمويل الأبحاث من المنظمات الحكومية والمنظمات غير الحكومية والمنظمات الدولية وبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي وإدارة التنمية الدولية والجامعات. تشمل الاهتمامات البحثية له تعميم تغير المناخ والحد من مخاطر الكوارث، وعلوم الاستدامة، وتخطيط سياسة الحد من مخاطر الكوارث، وطوارئ الصحة العامة، والإدارة المتكاملة للطوارئ من أجل جاهزية أفضل.

أثناء عمله كمستشار دولي رائد في مجموعة التكيف مع تغير المناخ والحد من مخاطر الكوارث في وكالات الأمم المتحدة المختلفة، حدد فجوة استراتيجية مروعة في تطوير وثائق البرنامج وتنفيذ جداول الأعمال المتعلقة بتغير المناخ والحد من مخاطر الكوارث والتنمية المستدامة. إن الدعوة إلى تعميم اعتبارات البيئة وتغير المناخ والحد من مخاطر الكوارث في جميع القطاعات هو الدافع الأسمى والرئيسي لعمله.
